Education

Hello and thank you for stopping by! After more than 20 years working in academia, I established my tutoring and science editing business. I've always loved academic research and the experimental approach to solving nature puzzles. I also love mathematical puzzles since I grew up solving them. I find joy in sharing knowledge and explaining complex mathematical and biological concepts in simple manner. I apply my practical knowledge from the University to working with school students. Since my early years at the university, I have been helping students with their studies. I focus on two major subjects: biology and maths. With the recent advances in technology and increasing interest in a multidisciplinary approach in science, these two disciplines came closer to one another as never before! I enjoy sharing knowledge and ideas and also discovering different ways of solving the same mathematical question or thinking of the same natural phenomenon. Why the wood feels warm and the metal bars cold when we touch them? How to visualise an irrational number such as a square root of 2? How to see the gravity working? How to simplify a complex expression, solve a quadratic equation, analyse functions, and more... We can find these answers together first until you are independent and do not need me anymore. EDUCATION: - PhD in Molecular Biology, Goettingen University, Germany, 2008 - B.Sc. in Life Sciences, Major Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Tel Aviv University, Israel, 2000 - Advanced maths studies, high school - Improvisation theater in English - Piano training - seven years of a standard music school - Equestrian sports (Galop 5)

Experience

I have over 10 years' experience of helping students succeed with maths and sciences. I am thoroughly familiar with MYP and IB maths curriculum as taught at the International Schools in Geneva. During years of tutoring, I have developed sets of exercises and methodological approaches to help students practice for their tests and final exams. A regular practice is paramount for achieving good results. I use individual approach and develop a unique strategy for each student taking into account the character, strength and weakness of every student. 2014 - present: private tutor for students ages 12-18 at the International School of Geneva and College du Leman. Hobbies

I love theatre and in particular theatre improvisation. I have joined an improv group while in Geneva and got hooked ever since. I've been on the stage taking part in shows and also conducted my own improv workshops. Additionally, I am very keen on horseback riding. I have been riding a lot when I was younger taking classes of dressage and obstacle jumping. After a long pause, I have resumed riding and it has been a source of inspiration and delight.
